Something About Me
I am a jazz pianist, composer, and educator. Other hobbies include rock climbing, cooking, and I am a big time video gamer.
At the age 15, my family moved from Busan, South Korea to Vancouver, Canada. I fell in love with Jazz while I was in high school, with help of my first jazz teacher Bob Doyle. From there, the long journey of pursuing jazz began.
I studied in Capilano University with great Canadian musicians Ross Taggart on piano and Bill Coon on composition. After a few years after graduating, I decided to pursue in depth study in in jazz with the focus on the big band composition. I completed my Master in Jazz Composition in University of Oregon in 2018. I then continued my music and composition in Montreal, Canada.
My latest work was filmed and recorded in Montreal, Canada with generous support of Canada Council. Currently, I reside in Sydney, Australia to be with love of my life and trying to become an active member of the Sydney jazz scene.
